Reviews
Just got back from Riviera Bay and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Our apartment was very clean and roomy, nice to not to have suitcases in way as we usually do. We ate at the on site restaurant most nights which was very good value for money. The walk down to the beach was very tiring though, too many steps for me although my boys would disagree.

The fishing village of Brixham, which derives its name from ‘Briocs Village’, is set on hillside surrounding its harbour which serves as the port for a number of fishing trawlers. One notable feature of the harbour is the replica of Sir Francis Drake’s Golden Hind ship, which serves as a popular tourist attraction.
Brixham has a long military history, serving as a major part of Britain’s defence in former days. The Golden Hind replica is reflective of the importance of Brixham’s historical maritime roots, for it is off her coast that Drake fought the Spanish Armada following his legendary game of bowls on Plymouth Hoe.
Transport to the town is mainly provided by road or bus, but the heritage steam railway which links Paignton to Dartmouth (Kingswear) also passes nearby, with the nearest stop at the village of Churston. A range of holiday accommodation is provided in and around the town, including hotels, B&Bs and cottages, of which many were originally used by fishermen.
